Believing God is Good…Even When He’s Not Blessing Your Life

girl-1721424_1920.jpg

I have the same problem as a lot of Christians. God decides to bless me with something in life and I (figuratively and sometimes literally) raise my hands and shout “Hallelujah!”, “God is good!”

But then….maybe God decides to either remove that blessing or not continue blessing me….and my hands slowly fall back to my sides. God doesn’t seem so good anymore.

We’re getting it all wrong. Why do we base God’s goodness on whether He blesses us or not?

Why do we view God as good or bad based on what He does, instead of knowing He’s good because of who He is?

To the Broken, the Burdened, the Pained In Life…

I know I haven’t posted on here in ages. I did do some posting over here on another blog I started.

Here’s some of my favorite picks from the classic worlds of Sherlock, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, and (known primarily from the movie) The Princess Bride. Continue reading

Letting The World God Define Your Beauty

DSCF2301.JPG

We have allowed our society to let beauty mean a certain thing.

If, like me,  you type in the word “beauty” to a google or bing search to see what people really define beauty as, you’ll see tons of pictures of thin women, with long, luscious hair, powdering themselves with makeup.

I’m sure by the time you’re done going through those, you won’t feel that you’re beautiful.

Walking Trail

DSCF4664.JPG

We have a really cool walking trail about forty-five minutes away from our house.

It has a biking trail, walking trail, a field of flowers and wildlife, trees, and it has an old bunker and cannon from World War II.

It is so peaceful to go and walk there, although in the height of summer it’s a little too hot and there are normally quite a few tourists who stop to stretch their legs.
