Letting The World God Define Your Beauty

We have allowed our society to let beauty mean a certain thing.

If, like me,  you type in the word “beauty” to a google or bing search to see what people really define beauty as, you’ll see tons of pictures of thin women, with long, luscious hair, powdering themselves with makeup.

I’m sure by the time you’re done going through those, you won’t feel that you’re beautiful.

We all would do well to simplify our lives. Stress and overwork, extra stuff and disorganization lead us to live lives where we can’t enjoy the moment, where we can’t do our work the best it could be, and where we’re as miserable at home as at our over-busy work.

But we are all people of habit, and frankly, we’re used to the harried way we live. Sometimes the thought of changing it up so drastically makes us afraid.

We’ve come to view our possessions and the busyness of life as security–because when you get rid of the busyness and extra stuff–we’re forced to know who we really are, and what we really want.

Monday Mixup : Inspiring Your Week 2-19-18

Yet another week’s Monday Mixup.

I have to confess, I’m finding it hard to keep up the inspirational stuff because my mind is just so taken up with travel plans for later this year! (whoo-whoo!)

I will be traveling to Africa this August and I’m literally sooo excited but I’m also nervous because I’ve never flown before (yeah, so I decided to take a ten-day trip? It’s all good).

We all experience those days. Those days when your hair won’t lay right to save your life. Too flat, too poufy, etc., etc.,….whatever it is, it won’t cooperate enough for you to walk out the door looking like that.

Society needs to change it’s expectations, don’t you think?
