Letting The World God Define Your Beauty

We have allowed our society to let beauty mean a certain thing.

If, like me,  you type in the word “beauty” to a google or bing search to see what people really define beauty as, you’ll see tons of pictures of thin women, with long, luscious hair, powdering themselves with makeup.

I’m sure by the time you’re done going through those, you won’t feel that you’re beautiful.

Faith to Walk on Water

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? “

I have the same problem as a lot of Christians. God decides to bless me with something in life and I (figuratively and sometimes literally) raise my hands and shout “Hallelujah!”, “God is good!”

But then….maybe God decides to either remove that blessing or not continue blessing me….and my hands slowly fall back to my sides. God doesn’t seem so good anymore.

We’re getting it all wrong. Why do we base God’s goodness on whether He blesses us or not?

Why do we view God as good or bad based on what He does, instead of knowing He’s good because of who He is?

For Everything There’s a Time

asia-2818566_1280.jpg

Seasons being dramatic changes. One season can be quiet and tranquil, a period of restoration and refreshment. The next can be hectic and unplanned, a rushing through time without being able to pause and take a breath.

Last year was a waiting year. God told me, “Just learn to rest and trust in me. I am preparing you for something in this calm season.”

This year has started, and already I know: this is a year of action.
