Fall is just about upon us, and now is the time to add a few things to your closet that will come in handy for fall and even winter.
I don’t dress with the trends, unless that’s buying things that are actually at the store at the time, so these are not just fall 2016 must-haves, but staples for any fall wardrobe.
And small style changes can be made if you do keep up with trends =)These are all very versatile things that you are able to use a lot in your wardrobe during fall. A lot are even so versatile to be used all year.
1. White Sweatshirt.
Really. A white sweatshirt can add a pop of casual coolness to your outfit. I love mine. The best thing is, it’s all-seasons because it can be worn on a breezy summer evening or layered to wear all day in the fall. A plus is that white matches just about everything!
This is just a cheap one from Amazon, but it looks comfy enough. Mine is an Old Navy. And there are lots more of varying prices if you look around.
2. Jean Jacket
Another piece of outwear, good for layering; a jean jacket. And trust me, you don’t have to be a western-boot wearing, bandana-necked cowboy enthusiast to wear a jean jacket–since I am certainly not! I find plenty of ways to wear mine. It looks great over a sweater.
I love the dark color of this one, but they also make light jean and white jean and everything else! Mine is slightly more blue, is a more open style, and goes with just about everything.
3. Jean Skirt
Jean is great all year round, but in summer it can get a little hot and in winter you need to layer it–which makes fall the perfect time of year to break out the jean! Plus, it looks amazing paired with the “normal” fall colors; red, orange, and brown.
This is pretty similar to one I have. I love the length; not too long so it’s dragging on the floor but not so short you feel like you can’t sit down. Also I like a more relaxed fit so it feels like you can actually move! Looks great with boots, leggings, sweaters, sweatshirts,….basically, anything and everything.
4. Shirt Dress.
Okay, I don’t currently own one of these but it’s on my to-buy list and I can SO see the potential for this piece. With leggings, boots, and maybe even a jacket on top, you’d have a killer fall outfit. They look amazingly comfortable and very chic.
Everything’s better with roll-up sleeves, right? I adore the color of this ^^ and the snap detail on the pockets. They always seem to be belted. It just gives it better shape.
5. Printed Leggings.
Alright, another thing I do not currently have in my closet. But I love leggings, I just don’t have printed ones. But they are all the fun! You could really spice up an outfit with printed leggings. Leggings are comfortable and warm and just really cute!
I was kind of impressed with these crazy ones ^^. They even kind of match the shirt dress. They’ve got a lot of color, interesting pattern, and just look like fall.
6. Knee-High Boots.
You probably already know this one. Boots are amazing. But not just any boots; pick ones with a small- to no- heel. Flat, knee-high boots give you this I-can-take-on-the-world feeling, because you can actually even run in them, which is something impossible with heels. They are so darn comfortable you don’t feel like wearing anything else.
I have a pair of brown, low-heeled boots, but I couldn’t find them online =) Oh well, I love these black ones; they look great, still fashionable even without the heel, and oh-so-comfy.
7. A Backpack.
You might think this an odd addition. A backpack? What’s that got to do with fall? Well, backpacks just feel like fall (must be the whole back-to-school thing!).
But you don’t have to be going to high school or even college to enjoy a backpack. What are the pros of backpacks? Well, they just look cool; they hold everything you need and normally have lots of organization and they distribute the load between both shoulders or cross-body.
Besides, they’re good for the fall hikes and vacations and day trips you’ll be taking.
I own a Vera Bradley backpack, but this one ^^ is SO adorable and I honestly like the non-quilted look better. And polka-dots are always good!
Well, that’s what I call “Fall must-haves”.
