These cookies are absolutely FABULOUS!!
My family doesn’t even need the without flour / without butter but hey! Anything that’s healthier and STILL tastes great is what I’m going for!
You could consider me a healthy eater. But in a way I don’t like ‘healthy’ eating.
Some people cook strange food with strange, hard-to-find and expensive ingredients (“THAT’s supposed to be bread?!”). Most of that cooking I find bland, has a weird texture, and who wants to bother finding the ingredients?
The kind of cooking my mom does (and I help out with) is cooking that excludes most prepared foods (if you’re buying meatballs, canned foods, etc. check out the labels!), GMO foods, and non-organic foods the best that we’re able.
You probably won’t be able to afford a completely organic, non-GMO diet, simply because it’s more expensive. But by avoiding the worst things (prepared foods) and cooking from scratch, you can keep track of what you’re eating.
And one tip for cooking healthy : use spices liberally! Don’t be afraid to experiment with flavors. Spices like cinnamon, turmeric, and a lot of other ones are extremely healthy for you, and easy to work into your food.
Like sweet potatoes? Sprinkle on the cinnamon! Scrambled eggs? Add onion powder, garlic (powder or fresh diced), and basil. Cooking chicken? turmeric adds a delicious flavor!
